Developing the Young Workforce in Fife (DYW Fife) has launched a new app to help young people dive into the world of work, from whenever they are.

Developed by a partnership between Fife Council and Fife-based technology company Ember Technology Ltd, the new app creates more ways for employers, education providers and Skills Development Scotland to work together to support young people as they consider their future and potential pathways into work.

Through the app, young people can engage with, and learn from local employers, read helpful articles, take part in polls, discover career opportunities, placements or apprenticeships and enter competitions and win prizes.

DYW (Fife) is the employer-led, regional group set up to create stronger connections between local employers, education and young people in order to better prepare young people for the world of work.

Take a closer look at the desktop version of the app which can be downloaded from the Google Play or Apple stores.

The national Developing the Young Workforce organisation has also launched a Summer Leavers programme to help young people who are leaving school this summer. A digital Resource Hub –  E-DYW  – has been created and a series of online events have been organised for young people, educators, employers and parents including the DYW Skills Academy ‘Get Industry Ready’ sessions and Scotland’s Biggest Parents’ Event.
